Stream of Consciousness won an award in the 2008 Drake Magazine 5 Minutes of Fly Fishing Video Awards for “Best Humor.”

About the DVD:

It has been over five years since we started filming fly fishing around the world.  It has been an amazing journey that has taken us to the ends of the earth.  You may have seen portions of our footage over the years in film festivals such as The Fly Fishing Film Tour or The Drake Magaine’s 5 Minutes of Fly Fishing Video Awards.  But we’ve never released anything anything of length to the public… until now.

Green Screen History:

Green Screen is one of our award winning short films with a great history. It was also one of our favorites to create.

We shot the into at our friend’s (Ali Wade) trailer in Aspen.

This short film (because of some last minute technical difficulties), did not make it into the 2007 Drake Magazine Fly Fishing Video Awards – but we entered another short (Kate and Mark) that took “Best Story” in the film festival.  We then entered Green Screen into the Winston Movie Awards and took an award for “Best Film.” So there is now a plaque on our office wall, signed by all the judges, for “the film that didn’t make the drake mag cut.” The prize for winning “Best Film” was a trip to Ascension Bay Bonefish Club, where we shot footage of Bonefish and Permit for a week in Mexico. In 2006 we submitted our first short film to a film festival – The Drake Magazine’s 5 Mintues of Fly Fishing Video Awards.  We walked away with an award for “Best Story.”  We’ve come a long way as a production company, but it is still fun to watch our first short.

From 2006 – 2008 Beattie Outdoor Productions and Wild River Guides spent a month each summer in the Alaskan bush, documenting the first recorded descent of an unnamed river in Alaska, as well as other descents of remote Alaskan’s rivers.  This short film was produced after the second summer, chronicalling the lifes head guide Mark Rutherford and his daugher Kate Rutherford. This short film won an award for “Best Story” in the Drake Magazine 5 minutes of Fly Fishing Awards.
